Pick a Gregorian date.

How it works

  1. Choose Gregorian → Hijri or Hijri → Gregorian.
  2. Pick a date; the result uses the Umm al-Qura calendar built into your browser.
  3. If your country's moon sighting is a day behind or ahead (common in Pakistan and India), use the ±1/±2 day adjustment.
  4. For Ramadan and Eid, always confirm with your local moon-sighting committee's announcement.

Frequently Asked Questions

The tool shows today's Islamic date at the top using the Umm al-Qura calendar. If your country's moon sighting differs, use the ±1 or ±2 day adjustment.
Islamic months begin with the sighting of the new moon, which depends on location and local committees. Saudi Arabia follows Umm al-Qura, while Pakistan, India and others may be a day behind.
Each month has 29 or 30 days, so a Hijri year has about 354 or 355 days — roughly 11 days shorter than the Gregorian year.
Choose “Hijri → Gregorian”, pick the day, month and year (AH) and the matching Gregorian date appears instantly.
Use it for planning, but always confirm Ramadan and Eid with your local moon-sighting announcement.
